Poetry- Living Blindfolded by Georgette Janna Uy

Distorted reflection. Lies from your Eyes. Beauty unnoticed. You were beautifully crafted Like a hand carved wooden item Like a golden sunflower planted Just by grandmother's garden The mirror can't tell your worth The scale is nothing more Darling, you are like a butterfly Go on, Spread your wings, and fly Graze upon inner peace Try to think, see and believe That everything is just beginning in who you are becoming And in all you've yet to be. You can't always be wishful. Don't you agree? It's painful. Stop. Breathe. You're beautiful. After all the years of playing pretend Look at the mirror and see you again.
