Climate change is real.
Wildfires erupt,
temperatures soar,
hurricanes swarm,
and droughts intensify.
All because we refused to change.
All because we did this.
We got here.
And we have to fix this.
One day, our own children
won’t know what snow feels like.
That icy joy that symbolizes
the most wonderful time of the year.
The arctic will melt,
and sea levels will rise,
unless we choose to live sustainably.
Unless we choose to save Earth.
We did this.
We got here.
And we need to fix this.
And “we” means you, and I, and everyone.
Climate change is real.
Climate change is here.
And we need your help.
Of her poem, Kelley explains, "This piece is about the dangers of climate change. We can't solve this issue without everyone's help, we need everyone to do their part to reduce our carbon footprint."
