Of her oil painting piece Katie writes, "Because of the increasing amount of plastic in the ocean, I hope that with my painted depiction of these beautiful bat stars in the Vancouver Islands, people can see what they're destroying with every piece of plastic they litter. The whole world seems to be in crisis right now, so help save the oceans we have yet to explore, and try to help others around you, for there is beauty in almost everything. Be the change."
